Job Description:
Location: Batesburg-Leesville, SC Reports to: Weaving Supervisor
Department: Weaving Status: Hourly
Number of Positions: 2 Shift: 2nd and 3rd shift
Job Summary:
The Weaver is responsible for operating the loom to create velvet products.
Essential Functions:
Follow all safety guidelines.
Maintain loom for production.
Maintain all quality standards.
Inspect products to ensure that specifications are met and to determine if machines need adjustment.
Inspect woven cloth to detect weaving defects.
Thread yarn and through guides, drop wires, heedles and reeds.
Examine looms to determine causes of loom stoppage, such as warp filling, harness breaks, or mechanical defects.
Notify staff of mechanical malfunctions.
Inspect machinery to determine whether repairs are needed.
Record information about work completed and machine settings.
Ability to comprehend loom patterns, samples, charts, and/or specification sheets.
Communicate with co-workers to obtain information about production flow.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Dependable and reliable.
Previous weaving experience required.
